A note on data gathering

 

MG1 and MG2 completed two questionnaires (in December 2013 and February 2014) and CG1 and CG2 completed a questionnaire in February 2014. There were no significant differences between the responses given by the MG at the midway point (December) compared to the final questionnaire[1]See Appendix 7 for the MG midway and final results. (February) with the exception of the responses to the question, “Compared to last year do you feel more motivated to arrive on time?” which is discussed below.

Although my study finished in March, both MG voted in favour of continuing the multiplayer classroom until the end of the scholastic year, so when the two semi-structured group interviews took place, the multiplayer classroom was still being conducted.

Weeks are numbered according to the multiplayer classroom timetable: for example, week1 is the third week of term, but the first week of the multiplayer classroom.
